great-loopWhat is The Great Loop anyway?

Known as America’s Great Loop, or The Great Circle Route, it’s a navigational route around the Eastern USA and Canada’s Great Lakes, entirely by boat!  The basic route is about 5800 miles but there are lots of side trips you can do.

About 140 vessels complete the Loop each year. “Loopers” are a close-knit supportive community supported by America’s Great Loop Cruisers Association, or ALGCA.

Jim and Lesley, aboard Tyre-less, will be starting the Loop in July 2017. We are hoping to rendezvous with friends and family along the way, and for those who would like to join us vicariously, we plan to share our adventures  on our blog.
